In Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, a local resident accused of hooliganism involving violence and a weapon will stand trial. The criminal case has been submitted to the city court, the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region reported.
The case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism").
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on 18 June 2025 in the city park "Duck Lake". The accused was intoxicated and, carrying a gas-powered pneumatic pistol, began shooting at a passerby.
According to the investigation, the suspect acted out of hooligan motives. The suspect opened indiscriminate fire, pursuing the victim to the nearest shopping pavilion.
As a result of the attack, the passerby sustained minor injuries. After the incident the assailant fled the scene.
Earlier it was reported that the Investigative Committee opened a case against a migrant who attacked a bus driver with a knife in Nizhny Novgorod.
We also note that the Nizhny Novgorod police are checking information about a possible shooting at a bus in the Avtozavodsky district.
