The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation over the collapse of a ceiling in a building on Ilyinka.
31 October 2025 17:58 Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigation check after a ceiling collapsed in one of the apartments of a multi-unit residential building in Nizhny Novgorod, the department’s press service reported.
According to the Telegram channel "Kstati", the incident occurred on the fourth floor of the brick building No. 123B on Ilyinskaya Street. The collapse may have been caused by nearby construction, which had been shaking the building.
Specialists from JSC "DK of the Nizhny Novgorod District" went to the scene to determine the causes of the incident and decide on further actions.
The Investigative Committee intervened. The head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Ayrat Akhmetshin, ordered a check to establish all the circumstances of what happened.
The prosecutor’s office has also opened an inquiry. The agency will assess how the management company and the responsible services were complying with housing legislation. If violations are found, the question of taking prosecutorial response measures will be considered.
