A resident of Dzerzhinsk lost more than 2.5 million rubles investing her savings on a trading platform.
According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the victim, who was on maternity leave, was looking for additional income and found a group for remote work in a messenger. After filling out a questionnaire, she was contacted by an unknown person who introduced himself as a manager of the organization.
The fraudster convinced the woman that he would teach her about investments and help her earn money.
Following the scammer’s instructions, the woman followed suspicious links, downloaded unknown apps and transferred her personal savings and borrowed funds to the fraudsters’ accounts in the amount of 2,514,600 rubles.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
