VC "Gorky" lost to the Russian champion.

      Nizhny Novgorod volleyball club "Gorky" failed to overcome the reigning Russian champion. The match ended 1:3 in favor of Kazan's "Zenit."

      The visitors lost the first two sets, but in the third set coach Andrey Dranishnikov completely changed the lineup. The revamped six managed to mount a fight and took the set, narrowing the deficit. However, the Nizhny Novgorod side could not build on their success; the fourth set remained with "Zenit."

      The most productive player for "Gorky" was opposite Pavel Zheleznyakov. He scored 12 points, converting 55% of his attacks.

      The Nizhny Novgorod team will play their next match (6+) on October 27 at home. Their opponent will be "Orenburzhye."

      Recall that this summer, following a vote by Nizhny Novgorod residents, the volleyball club ASK was renamed "Gorky."

      Earlier it was reported that the "Gorky" side were targeting the playoffs.
