A Nizhny Novgorod resident had his stolen BMW worth 13 million rubles returned.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, police officers found and returned to a young man his expensive car, which had been stolen during an armed robbery. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region, the foreign-made car is worth 13 million rubles.

      The incident occurred in August this year. An unknown man wearing a balaclava attacked a 19-year-old resident of Nizhny Novgorod in the underground parking lot of a building on 1st Orangery Street. Threatening him with a pistol, the assailant stole the car and fled.

      The search for the car took only a few hours. Police found the stolen foreign-made car near one of the houses on Shalyapin Street. A criminal case for robbery was opened.

      The 21-year-old suspect was detained in the city of Bryansk. He was remanded in custody by a court decision. During the investigation it was revealed that he acted alone with the aim of extortion.

      After the necessary investigative procedures were completed, the car, which had served as physical evidence, was officially handed over to the owner for safekeeping. The car’s owner thanked the police officers for their prompt work.

      The investigation continues.

      Earlier it was reported that a Nizhny Novgorod resident who stole an official "Gazelle" faces up to three years in prison.
