In Nizhny Novgorod, a graffiti honoring a hero of the special military operation, Alouddin Mirzorakhimov, was unveiled.

      On October 24 in Nizhny Novgorod a solemn ceremony was held to unveil graffiti dedicated to special military operation hero Alouddin Mirzorakhimov. The art piece appeared on Baumana Street as part of the large-scale regional project "Image of Victory," which the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Volunteers of Victory is implementing with the support of the regional government. This artwork has become the 345th in the "gallery" of portraits that commemorate the memory of heroes of the past and present.

      The opening ceremony was attended by Zhanna Sudaeva, deputy head of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod’s Leninsky District, members of the hero’s family, activists from the Volunteers of Victory movement, Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren and city residents.

      "Alouddin always said that at heart he was Russian. He was a true patriot and a real man. He always helped people and his comrades-in-arms. Thank you to the volunteers that now his memory will be preserved in his beloved city," shared the hero’s wife, Yuliya Prodan.

      Alouddin Mirzorakhimov was born in a Tajik settlement and had lived in Nizhny Novgorod for the past 23 years, which became his true home. He practiced boxing, was a Master of Sport in Greco-Roman wrestling, and a Candidate for Master of Sport in hand-to-hand combat. With the start of the special military operation, Alouddin decided to voluntarily take up the defense of the Motherland. He showed courage and selflessness during combat operations. For saving the lives of his comrades-in-arms he was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

      "The unveiling of each new art object within our 'Image of Victory' project is always an event. We do not simply put a portrait on a wall; we bring the city its hero back. Alouddin Mirzorakhimov was a Nizhny Novgorod resident; he lived here and walked these streets. His steadfastness and voluntary choice to stand up for the defense of the Motherland are an example of true patriotism, born not in words but in deeds. Volunteers of Victory have been working on 'Image of Victory' for five years. For us this project is a living mission. 345 graffiti — that’s 345 preserved names, 345 stories that thousands of people now know and see. We observe young people stopping at the graffiti, veterans bringing flowers, and we understand that this work is needed, that it connects eras. It makes the memory of the feat tangible and eternal," noted Maria Samodelkina, head of the Nizhny Novgorod regional office of the All‑Russian public movement Volunteers of Victory.
