A seller from Nizhny Novgorod will pay a teenager half a million over a firecracker explosion.

      An individual entrepreneur from Nizhny Novgorod will pay more than 550,000 rubles to the family of a teenager injured in the explosion of a pyrotechnic device. The court made this decision after a lawsuit filed by the Kanavinsky District prosecutor’s office. This was reported by the press service of the regional supervisory authority.

      The incident occurred in December 2024. The entrepreneur illegally sold pyrotechnics to a teenager. Subsequently, the minor ignited the device on the premises of a shopping and entertainment center, resulting in an explosion. The teenager sustained serious injuries — all the fingers of his left hand were injured. He underwent surgery, during which doctors managed to fully save the thumb and index finger. The other three fingers were more severely injured; doctors performed painstaking work and did everything possible to partially restore them. Thanks to this, the hand’s grasping function was preserved.

      In the interests of the victim and his mother, the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for moral damage and reimbursement of medical expenses.

      The court granted the prosecutor’s claims in full.

      Earlier in Nizhny Novgorod, compensation of 500,000 rubles was paid to the family of a teenager who suffered a serious injury at a trampoline center.
