The contractor was caught violating regulations at the construction site of a municipal solid waste landfill near Bogorodsk.

      October 23, 2025, 19:00 — Society. Inspectors of the Interregional Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor, which oversees the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mordovia, carried out an unscheduled on-site inspection of the activities of LLC "Sitilux". The company is acting as the general contractor for the construction of a facility for the disposal and primary sorting of municipal solid waste in the village of Lazarevo, Bogorodsky District.

      The construction is being carried out at the request of LLC "ORB Nizhny", which is both the investor and the technical client of the project. Work is currently underway to create waste burial site No. 4, covering a total area of more than 23,500 square meters.

      The facility is classified as Category I for negative environmental impact. It previously received a positive conclusion from the state environmental review, and its implementation is under constant supervision by regulatory authorities.

      During the inspection, Rosprirodnadzor specialists recorded that a number of construction operations had been carried out on the site. These included removal of the fertile topsoil, excavation of the pit, formation of an embankment, installation of an anti-filtration screen, installation of a leachate collection system, as well as laying of geotextile and geomembrane.

      In addition, the inspection revealed violations of the project documentation that had previously passed the environmental review. In particular, the geotextile used in construction does not comply with the GOST requirements specified in the project. Furthermore, the technological standards for laying both the geotextile and the geomembrane were violated.

      Following the inspection, LLC "Sitilux" was issued an order to eliminate all identified violations. Compliance with the order is under Rosprirodnadzor's control. Administrative measures will also be taken shortly against the legal entity and the responsible officials.
