Nizhny Novgorod will be decorated with New Year's flags for 5.7 million rubles.

      A contractor has been chosen to handle the festive decoration of Nizhny Novgorod for New Year 2026 and Christmas. According to the results of the procurement, a contract worth 5.73 million rubles will be signed with the sole bidder. This is reported on the public procurement website.

      The name of the contractor has not yet been disclosed because the contract has not been signed, but its signing is expected in the near future. The cost of the work fully corresponds to the originally allocated budget.

      Because only one application was submitted to participate in the electronic auction, the procedure was declared invalid. However, the application was reviewed and found to comply with all requirements, which made it possible to determine a winner with whom a contract will be signed.

      The contractor will be required to manufacture and install festive decorations — flags, flagpoles, posters and placards. These elements will appear in various districts of the city. The New Year decorations will cover key public spaces, including Revolution Square, Blagoveshchenskaya and Komsomolskaya squares, the area near the Sports Palace, Friendship Alley, Victory Park, as well as Karl Marx, Betancourt and other streets.

      Earlier it was reported that the administration of Nizhny Novgorod allocated 12 million rubles for the purchase of New Year gifts for children.

      It also emerged that the authorities are ready to spend almost 38 million rubles on New Year illumination.
