Nizhny Novgorod farmers increased their grain harvest by 20% in 2025.

      Agricultural producers of the Nizhny Novgorod Region have harvested 1.9 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2025 harvest campaign. This is 21% higher than last year's figure, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported.

      Harvesting operations have covered 95% of the sown areas allocated to cereals and grain legumes. A total of 497,000 hectares have been sown in the region's agricultural enterprises. The average yield was 32 centners per hectare.

      In addition to grain, farmers harvested 175,000 tonnes of sugar beet, 73,000 tonnes of oilseed crops, and 253,000 tonnes of potatoes. The open-field vegetable harvest reached 19,000 tonnes.

      Compared with last year, potato harvest volumes increased by one third, while oilseed seed volumes increased by one and a half times.

      Earlier it was reported that deputies of the Nizhny Novgorod Legislative Assembly discussed the results of the 2025 harvest campaign.
