      On the evening of October 22, a fatal road traffic accident occurred on the Shopsha — Ivanovo — Nizhny Novgorod section of the highway in the Balakhninsky District. According to the regional traffic police, a 40-year-old driver of a truck with a semi-trailer struck a pedestrian.

      The victim was a 59-year-old woman who was crossing the roadway at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing.

      The woman died at the scene before an ambulance arrived.

      Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that police are searching for a Nizhny Novgorod resident who knocked down a girl at a pedestrian crossing in Avtozavod.
