From September 22 to 28, 2025, more than 19,000 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were registered in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. This figure remains below the multi-year average level, the regional Rospotrebnadzor reported.
As part of the weekly monitoring of infectious agents, about 18,000 people were examined. According to specialists, rhinoviruses and parainfluenza viruses predominate among circulating viruses. Cases of infection with adenoviruses, bocaviruses, respiratory syncytial viruses, metapneumoviruses and Mycoplasma have also been recorded.
As of October 2, 2025, classes have been partially suspended in 12 classes in ten schools, as well as in 47 groups at 38 preschool educational institutions.
Epidemiologists remind residents of the region of the need to follow preventive measures. Specialists note that regular hand washing with soap or use of antiseptics, avoiding touching the face and limiting contact with sick people help reduce the risk of infection.
It is also important to maintain social distancing in crowded places, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and at the first signs of illness stay home and seek medical care. In addition, special attention is recommended to be given to influenza vaccination, which remains one of the most effective preventive measures.
Recall that a week earlier five Nizhny Novgorod schools were closed for ARVI quarantine.
It was also reported that the Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital implemented a mask mandate and restricted patient visits.
