New rules for SIM card registration are in effect in Russia. According to the law, no more than 20 SIM cards may be registered to one Russian citizen in total across all operators. If the limit is exceeded, the client risks losing access to all numbers registered to them. At the same time, without a specific check, far from every user can accurately say who their SIM card is registered to or how many SIM cards are registered to them in total.
Beeline cares about its customers and has prepared a guide on how to find out how many SIM cards are registered in your name and what to do if your number turns out to be registered to another person.
How to check the number of SIM cards
- Go to the Gosuslugi portal (Profile → SIM cards) and see which numbers are registered to your passport. The page should list not only phone numbers but also the operators that provide service for them.
- Contact Beeline's support service: by phone at 0611 or visit an office with your passport. That way you can find out about Beeline SIM cards registered in your name.
- Request information from each operator you are aware of separately (you will need to visit the operator's office with your passport for this).
Via Gosuslugi
The easiest way to check the number of SIM cards registered to your passport is Gosuslugi. Go to "Profile" and open the "SIM cards" section.
If in this section you:
- Did not find your number? This is a reason to contact the operator serving it. The number may be registered under your old passport details or not registered to you at all. You need to update your personal data (if the number is yours but the data changed since the number was connected) or re-register the numbers to yourself from another owner. Beeline customers who have a verified Gosuslugi account can update their personal data through the operator's mobile app or at an office with their passport. If you know the owner of the number you use, go to the operator's office with them. You must have valid passports with you. If you do not know the owner — go to any Beeline office with an active SIM card and an identity document to undergo identification of the actual user of the number. All this will allow you to keep the number and avoid blocking. We explained in more detail here how to confirm your passport details and re-register a number to yourself.
- Found numbers that are unfamiliar to you and you don't know who actually uses them? You need to relinquish such numbers. There is a corresponding button for each listed number in this section on Gosuslugi. Or contact the operators' offices.
- Counted twenty numbers (even if all these numbers are familiar to you, used by you or your relatives)? You should re-register some of them to the actual users. And deactivate unused numbers completely. By law, no more than 20 SIM cards may be registered to one Russian citizen in total across all operators. It is important to comply with the legal requirements, otherwise all numbers registered to you will be blocked from 1 November 2025.
It is important to take into account that changes to the contract do not occur overnight. Sometimes it takes several days to carry out all checks and the procedures for re-registration or disconnection, so take care in advance to check information about your SIM cards and, if necessary, visit the operator's office.
