The beating of dogs by a young resident of Nizhny Novgorod ended with a police investigation.

      02 October 2025 19:00 Incidents — Police are conducting an inquiry after a video appeared online showing a schoolboy cruelly abusing dogs. The incident occurred in Novaya Kuznechikha. Outraged local residents posted the footage on the Telegram channel "Kuznechikha Gorod. NEWS".

      The video shows the boy coming out of an entrance with two dogs, then beginning to beat one of them with his feet right on the street. According to eyewitnesses, the injured animals are of dangerous breeds.

      Residents of the neighborhood believe that such behavior by the child may be the result of similarly cruel treatment of animals at home.

      The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported that an inquiry is currently under way. No complaints have been filed with the police about this incident so far.

      It should be recalled that in August the Nizhny Novgorod Region approved a bill providing for fines for failure to comply with rules for keeping domestic animals.
