Nearly 55 veterinary documents for meat were not found in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Over the eight months of 2025, specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Republic of Mari El, together with officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD), conducted 58 raids to monitor the transportation of products of animal origin. Thirty-one operations took place in Nizhny Novgorod Region, and 27 in the territory of Mari El.

      During the checks, 607 vehicles were inspected. As a result, 56 violations were identified related to the absence of veterinary accompanying documents (VSD) or their incorrect issuance, including unreadable QR codes.

      Among the seized items were more than 30 tonnes of products of animal origin, four heads of cattle, and 326 bee packages. Following the checks, 43 warnings about the inadmissibility of violating mandatory requirements and 30 orders to eliminate identified violations of veterinary legislation were issued.

      The share of violations amounted to 9.5% of the total number of inspected vehicles. This indicates a high level of non-compliance with veterinary and sanitary standards in the transportation of controlled products.

      The agency reminds that the transportation of animals and products of animal origin is subject to mandatory veterinary control. This is necessary to confirm the epizootic well-being of territories, to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases, including those common to humans and animals, and to ensure traceability of goods.

      The movement of such cargo across the territory of Russia is permitted only if accompanied by veterinary accompanying documents issued in accordance with Order No. 862 of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation dated December 13, 2022.

      Earlier it was reported that nine batches of infected fruits were found in Nizhny Novgorod Region.
