      A man suspected of killing two local residents in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod has been remanded in custody. The court made this decision, the regional branch of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.

      According to the investigation, the crime was committed after a drunken quarrel among three men in an apartment on Lyuba Shevtsova Street. During the conflict, one of the participants, previously convicted of property crimes, left the apartment to retrieve a sawn-off hunting shotgun from a garage. Upon returning, he shot his acquaintances twice. They died at the scene from their wounds.

      A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under point "a" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code — the murder of two persons. He faces life imprisonment.

      Earlier, it was reported that a drunk man killed his mother during an argument in Tumbotino.
