Two more large-scale murals on an environmental theme have appeared in Nizhny Novgorod. They were created by artists Anatoly Akue and Nootk as part of the second stage of the "Air" project of the First International Biennale of Ecological Art (0+), the organizers reported.
Anatoly Akue placed his work on the facade of the building at 8 Zelensky Syezd. In the composition the artist explores the theme of information storage and its impact on the environment. The red background symbolizes an overheated atmosphere, and the storage-box on the right side of the image alludes to cloud technologies and data flows. The contrast between chaos and structure, warmth and cold creates tension that prompts reflection on the influence of the digital world on the environment.
The second mural appeared on the retaining wall of the metro bridge at 4 Marata Street. Its author, artist Nootk, dedicated the work to animals and birds from the Red Book of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The focus is on species that are endangered or already extinct. The subject underscores the fragility of the ecosystem and the need to protect it.
It was previously reported that five murals had already been created in the city as part of the "Air" project.
Reminder: the ecological art biennale is being held in Nizhny Novgorod from April to November 2025, uniting six cultural spaces in the city. The event involves 100 artists representing 35 countries.
