      The new ice arena on Nizhny Novgorod’s Strelka could be commissioned around December 26. This was reported by the president of the Russian Hockey Federation, Vladislav Tretiak, in an interview with TASS.

      According to him, the Federation had considered the possibility of holding the Channel One Cup in Nizhny Novgorod or Yaroslavl. However, the deadlines for handing over the facilities did not allow those plans to be realized.

      "The new arena in Nizhny Novgorod will only be accepted around December 26. So we won't make it, and we will not be allowed to play there. In Yaroslavl they also cannot host our team," Tretiak explained.

      As a result, it was decided to hold the Channel One Cup in Novosibirsk.
