Schools in Nizhny Novgorod have begun using a new educational VR program that allows students to take virtual tours of the city's key landmarks. This was reported by Mayor Yuriy Shalabaev on his Telegram channel.

According to the mayor, students will be able to "stroll" through the city in the company of Alexander Pushkin, study the history of shipbuilding together with the legendary designer Rostislav Alekseyev, and also learn more about the twin city of Sukhumi.

"During the trip to Sukhumi the children will be accompanied by the well-known Abkhaz writer and poet Dmitry Gulia. A similar virtual tour has already been created for Bukhara — our Uzbek twin city. The program was developed as part of the international festival 'Bridge of Friendship'," Shalabaev noted.

The first classes using VR technologies were held on September 18 at School No. 151. The project is planned to be scaled up and implemented in other educational institutions in the city.

Earlier it was reported that AK mock-ups and training mannequins had been purchased for Nizhny Novgorod schools. It should also be recalled that the project of School No. 103 in Verkhnie Pechery received state expertise approval on its third attempt.
