A wooden bridge and caves were discovered on the bed of the Toskanka River in Nizhny Novgorod.

      Society. In the Nizhny Novgorod region the SL team of divers explored the bottom of Lake Toskanka, which has the status of a natural monument of regional significance. During the dive the scuba divers filmed several unique finds and shared them on social media.

      Underwater the divers came across an old wooden bridge that once connected the shores of the lake, as well as caves up to 45 meters deep. In addition, they managed to see various inhabitants of the waterbody. The divers noted that the water in Toskanka is unusually clear.

      "Nature seemed to have covered the bridge with its veil. Algae and moss created a living carpet that turned an ordinary wooden structure into a true underwater palace," the bloggers shared.

      Among the fish the divers encountered tench, roach, perch, bleak and the mistress of the lake — the pike. It is this fish that is associated with an ancient legend.

      "According to the legend, an unusual pike with special power lives in the depths of the lake. She guards a sacred island where the Holy Trinity Ostrovoezersky Monastery is located. It is believed that if a person with a pure heart and kind intentions meets this pike and makes a wish, it will surely come true," the divers said.
