The EKG Forum for Responsible Business "SO.ZNANIE" will take place on October 17 in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On October 17, 2025, in Nizhny Novgorod at the A.D. Sakharov “Mayak” Academy venue, the EKG Responsible Business Forum “SO.ZNANIE” will take place. The event will bring together key representatives of business and government to develop concrete solutions in the fields of economics, social policy and the environment. Supporting responsible business is one of the country’s strategic priorities, as repeatedly stated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The head of state emphasizes that necessary measures include raising wages, improving working conditions and social packages for employees.

      These messages formed the basis of the national system for assessing business reputation – the “Ecology–Personnel–State” (EKG) rating, which evaluates companies across three key areas: environmental responsibility, the level of care for employees, and partnership with the state. The rating’s mission is to unite the efforts of the state and the business community to achieve national development goals and to form new standards of a people-centered corporate culture.

      “Achieving the national goals set by the head of state requires the consolidation of all resources: both state and private. Many entrepreneurs understand this and demonstrate responsibility for the future of the country, the region, the city in which they operate, for their workforces and their families. In turn, the state is interested in increasing the number of such practices. In an era when consumers and partners choose those they can trust, participation in the EKG rating is an investment in a company’s future. Therefore, the rating can be used as a practical tool for public-private partnership,” said the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District, Igor Shchegolev.

      In 2025 the EKG Responsible Business Forum and the Sustainable Development Forum “SO.ZNANIE” have been combined on a single platform. The synergy of the two events will help form new practical approaches to sustainable development and strengthen industrial, social and technological cooperation.

      “Holding the EKG Forum precisely in Nizhny Novgorod is highly symbolic. Nizhny entrepreneurs have historically taken responsibility for the territories where they operate: back when Nizhny was called the ‘pocket of Russia,’ and business was the merchant class. The forum’s task is to find effective support measures for responsible business and to attract new players to this activity. I am sure this event will become an excellent platform for exchanging experience at all levels,” emphasized the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin.

      The forum’s business program will be concentrated in three thematic tracks, each reflecting key priorities of responsible business and sustainable development:

      Track 1: Ecology. Issues of biodiversity conservation, decarbonization and the circular economy. The focus is on the tasks of business and government to reduce environmental impact using best available technologies.

      Track 2: People. The key trend is corporate social responsibility. Within this track there will be a presentation of the Corporate Demographic Standard, as well as discussions on support for employees with children, participants of the special military operation and their families. At the center of the discussion is how caring for employees affects loyalty and efficiency, and which corporate initiatives are most in demand among employees.

      Track 3: Partnership between business and the state. Best practices of interaction for territorial development and the creation of social infrastructure. Participants will discuss regional laws supporting responsible business, state incentive measures and prospects for their development. A separate block will be devoted to the practical application of the business reputation index in corporate and government procurement as a tool to reduce risks and improve the quality of contract performance.

      The forum will conclude with an awards ceremony for the leaders of the EKG rating of the Volga Federal District.

      The conference organizer is the company OMG. The event will be held with the support of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District.
