SocietyMore than 12 thousand applicants were enrolled in the first year at the leading universities of Nizhny Novgorod following the results of the 2025 admissions campaign. This was reported to IA "Vremya N" by representatives of NNGASU, NGATU, NNGU and NGPU.
More than 1,800 people enrolled in the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (NNGASU). About 1,500 of them chose bachelor’s programs, 250 became master’s students, and 85 — specialist-degree students. The most popular bachelor’s programs were "Ecology and Environmental Management", "Architecture", "Architectural Environment Design", "Construction", "Information Systems and Technologies", "Land Management and Cadastres", "Standardization and Metrology".
Specialist-degree students will study in "Fire Safety", "Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures", "Monumental and Decorative Art". In the master’s programs — "Architecture", "Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Heritage", "Cultural Studies", "Design" and others. As the university clarified, 65 foreign citizens from 18 countries became first-year students, including Azerbaijan, Algeria, Angola, Zambia, Turkey and Chad.
The Nizhny Novgorod State Agricultural University (NGATU) admitted 772 first-year students. Of these, 565 chose bachelor’s programs, 136 — master’s programs, 71 — specialist degrees. Future agrarians will study "Biology", "Forestry", "Agronomy", "Landscape Architecture", "Aquatic Biological Resources and Aquaculture", "Animal Science" and other disciplines. Also, under the government quota the university enrolled three foreign students from the Congo and Benin.
Lobachevsky University admitted 7,377 people in 2025. Among them — 3,686 bachelor’s students, 1,158 specialist-degree students, 1,394 master’s students, 242 residency students, 872 students of secondary vocational education and 25 students of the Specialized Educational and Scientific Center based at the Balakhna branch. As the university emphasized, this year’s admissions campaign set a record: more than 98 thousand applications were submitted for all forms and levels of study.
Minin University showed a record number of freshmen this year — 2,706 people became students. More than two thousand of them are bachelor’s students, another 12 chose specialist degrees, and over 600 entered master’s programs. Studies began in 29 fields, and the average competition for bachelor’s and specialist programs was 19 applicants per place.
As the university press service specified, among those enrolled are 141 foreign students. The applicants’ geography includes Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, China, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and other countries.
