GUAD terminates contracts with "Nizhegorodavtodor" due to missed deadlines.

      The Main Directorate of Motor Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has decided to terminate state contracts with the contractor "Nizhegorodavtodor" due to systematic breaches of work completion deadlines. The matter concerns two contracts for bridge reconstruction and three for road repairs.

      In particular, this includes the reconstruction of a section of the Tonshaevo–Oshminskoye–Kodochigi route with the bridge over the Pizhma River, the access road from the village of Vorontsovo to the village of Nikolskoye with a structure over the Pyana River, as well as road sections in the Sokolsky and Koverninsky districts, in the Tonshaevsky district and the town of Shakhunya, including another project in Shakhunya.

      All legally prescribed procedures have been initiated against the contractor. It has been issued demands to pay penalties for failure to fulfill obligations, and a lawsuit has been filed to recover the unreimbursed advance. Precautionary measures have already been imposed on the company’s accounts.

      A tender to select a new contractor is planned to be announced in the near future. Tender documentation is currently being prepared to complete the remaining work.

      In addition, the possibility of terminating two more road repair contracts and two contracts for major repairs and reconstruction of bridges is being considered. New deadlines will be set after contracts are signed with the new contractor.

      The Main Directorate of Motor Roads of the Nizhny Novgorod Region emphasizes that it maintains constant oversight of the execution of all contracts and is taking the necessary measures to complete the work in full, on time, and to the required quality.
