The Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nizhny Novgorod told the news agency NTA-Privolzhye that it is ready to provide consultative and explanatory assistance to residents of the region regarding the situation in Nepal. The agency is conducting daily monitoring of reports of unrest.
The presence of citizens from the Nizhny Novgorod region in the country is not currently specified. At the same time, the representation emphasizes that it is open to appeals from anyone who needs support and consultations.
According to the Russian embassy in Nepal, about 400 Russian citizens are in the country. In the capital, Kathmandu, security is being provided by the Nepalese army, and a curfew has been imposed.
As noted by the Russian Foreign Ministry, there are no Russian citizens among the casualties.
Russian tourists are advised to temporarily refrain from traveling to Nepal until the situation stabilizes. Those already in the country are advised to exercise caution, avoid places of mass gatherings, and strictly follow the instructions of local authorities.
