Entrepreneurs in Nizhny Novgorod will be able to apply for loan holidays starting October 1.

      From October 1, 2025 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as self-employed residents of Nizhny Novgorod, will be able to take advantage of loan holidays that can last up to six months.

      This innovation applies to those whose debt does not exceed 10 million rubles. The corresponding law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 31, the 360 TV channel reports.

      Different limits are set for different categories of business. Micro-enterprises are permitted to have debt of no more than 60 million rubles. Small enterprises can qualify for a deferral if their debt does not exceed 400 million rubles. For medium-sized enterprises the limit is 1 billion rubles.

      If a company meets these requirements, it is entitled to a payment deferral for up to six months.

      Recall that the initiative for this law was put forward in July 2024 by a group of senators and State Duma deputies. As the authors of the document noted, the adoption of the law will reduce cases of bankruptcy among Russians and will ensure the financial stability of creditors.

      Recall that since January 1, 2024 Russians have had the right to six-month loan holidays if their incomes have fallen by more than 30% over the past two months compared with the income received over the last year, as well as those affected by emergencies. In addition, the issue of granting loan holidays to large families is being worked on.

      Loan holidays are also granted to Russians who have signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, the Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM), the FSB and a number of other services. Individual entrepreneurs can also use the deferral.
