The large Feinstra family, who moved to Russia from Canada more than a year ago, took part for the first time in a charity fair in the Nizhny Novgorod region, reports "Komsomolskaya Pravda - Nizhny Novgorod."
At the event, dedicated to helping children with oncological diseases, the farmers showcased honey, homemade pastries, zucchini and other vegetables grown on their own plot. In addition, visitors could purchase mugs with their farm's logo.
According to the head of the family, Arend Feinstra, participating in the fair was a new experience for them.
"We were invited to join the charity fair, and we gladly agreed. This is our first outing beyond the local market, and we're curious to see how it goes," the foreigner noted.
In addition to farm produce, stalls offered handmade items, home decor and other goods from local residents. The atmosphere at the venue was festive: music played, and there were dance performances and contests.
The Feinstra family moved to Russia in the winter of 2023. Arend, 39, and his wife Annissa have nine children. Before moving to Russia they spent 15 years raising cattle in Canada. They left behind a goat dairy farm and a recently built facility for raising meat animals.
Currently the family is continuing the construction of their own farm in the Nizhny Novgorod region in order to develop agriculture on Russian soil.
Earlier it was reported that the Feinstra family visited Arzamas and were impressed with the city.
