They haven't been able to fill the sinkhole on Dargomyzhsky Street in Nizhny Novgorod for over a month.

      Residents of Nizhny Novgorod are concerned about the prolonged repair of a sinkhole at 14 Dargomyzhsky Street. As one resident wrote on Mayor Yuri Shalabaev’s social media, the problem has persisted for more than a month, but the timeframe for fixing the damage has not yet been determined.

      According to her, a complaint on this issue was sent to the Housing Management Department (DUK) of the Leninsky District, “Teploenergo” and the governor’s team. In the latter case, the mayor’s office promised to respond within two to three days, but no response has been received.

      The woman reported that there is no sidewalk at the site of the collapse, forcing pedestrians to walk on the roadway. The barrier around the hole often falls down, and the sinkhole itself continues to grow in size.

      City hall representatives commented on the situation, explaining the delay by a change of contractor. According to them, the work is expected to be completed approximately by the end of September.

      Earlier, Nizhny Novgorod residents reported the appearance of large sinkholes on Novikova-Priboya Street. JSC “Nizhny Novgorod Vodokanal” replied that a major overhaul of that section of the drainage system is planned for early 2026, and that the hazardous area has been cordoned off for the time being.
