      The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered a report on the progress of the investigation into the incident in which a 10-year-old girl was injured at a city celebration in Knyaginino, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The agency's information center reported this.

      The incident occurred on August 24 during events dedicated to City Day. According to the investigation, during the concert a drunk man climbed onto the stage and began to dance. At that moment another man, who outwardly resembled the head of the culture department, pushed him off the stage. When he fell, the man pinned down a child standing by the stage. The girl was diagnosed with a broken leg. The incident was captured on video.

      A criminal case has been opened in connection with this incident. The head of the agency demanded that the head of the regional directorate, Ayrat Akhmetshin, submit a report on the progress of the investigation and the established circumstances.

      At the same time, an official inquiry is being conducted in the Knyaginino municipal district. Two employees, including the head of the culture department, have been suspended from their duties. The regional authorities assured that the employees responsible for organizing the event will be held accountable. The injured girl's family has been provided with the necessary assistance.

      Earlier it was reported that Bastrykin had taken an interest in a dog attack on a child that occurred in August in the Kstovo district.
