      Security measures in medical institutions are being strengthened in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Hospitals and polyclinics will now be equipped with systems capable of detecting drones. These changes are linked to new Ministry of Health requirements for anti-terrorism protection approved by the Russian government.

      This concerns not only protection from airborne vehicles. The new rules cover ground and even water drones. Priority will be given to areas that may be particularly vulnerable. Engineering and technical countermeasures will be installed there.

      In addition, medical staff will now regularly undergo drills. Employees will be taught how to act in the event of a threat of an aerial attack. Clear procedures of conduct will be developed for this.

      Control over suspicious people and items will also be tightened in hospitals. Surveillance and monitoring systems will operate in an enhanced mode.

      In the future, such measures may be extended to other socially significant facilities — schools, kindergartens and universities.
