      Sport. Nizhny Novgorod’s "Torpedo" had an unsuccessful start to the Mayor of Moscow Cup. On 28 August the Nizhny Novgorod team suffered a defeat in the opening match of the preseason tournament.

      The game was not very high-scoring. Moscow’s "Dynamo" managed to beat Ivan Kulbakov’s net only once, while the "Torpedo" players failed to convert their chances.

      Despite the small number of goals, both teams were extremely active. The match was spectacular due to the high speeds and sharp scoring opportunities. At the same time, the Nizhny Novgorod side could not avoid penalties and clashes with the opponent; emotions sometimes ran high.

      In the third period Alexey Isakov’s team put in a bright performance, but they still need to work on finishing.

      On 29 August "Torpedo" will face Minsk’s "Dynamo" in the tournament.

      Earlier it was reported that the farm club "Torpedo-Gorky" won the Yuri Moiseev memorial tournament.
