More than 63,000 tricolor ribbons will be distributed by Victory Volunteers to residents and visitors of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
Volunteers of Victory will distribute more than 63 thousand ribbons in the colors of the state flag in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The all-Russian patriotic campaign "Russian Tricolor", timed to coincide with State Flag Day, kicked off on August 18 at Teatralnaya Square in Nizhny Novgorod. The event was organized by the NRO VOD "Volunteers of Victory" with the support of the regional government.
Volunteers did not merely hand out symbolic tricolors, but also held short educational conversations, telling about the history of one of the main state symbols and the meaning of its colors.
“Holding the ‘Russian Tricolor’ campaign has become a good tradition for us. This year we prepared especially thoroughly for this important event, understanding its significance in strengthening civic unity. Our volunteers did not just distribute the symbols, they conducted mini-lessons of living history, explaining the meaning of each color of the state flag. It is especially valuable to note the active participation of young people — schoolchildren and students, who showed sincere interest in the history of the Russian tricolor. Also, foreign students from Indonesia and India happily took part in our campaign. This confirms that patriotic education and respect for the greatness of Russia find a real response in the hearts of people of different generations and different countries,” said Maria Samodelkina, head of the NRO VOD "Volunteers of Victory."
The campaign will run until August 22. In Nizhny Novgorod the tricolor ribbons can be obtained at Teatralnaya, Minina and Lenin Squares, in almost all squares and parks of Nizhny Novgorod, and in camps and recreation centers throughout the region. The campaign will cover not only Nizhny Novgorod but also other towns and districts of the region, uniting people ahead of an important state holiday.
