As a result, the man lost almost 600,000 rubles, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

The 34-year-old man told police that he received a message in a messenger from strangers. They offered him the chance to earn money through remote work and assured him it was simple and profitable.

During the correspondence they convinced him to transfer 575,000 rubles via an online application to the account specified. According to them, the money was supposed to be quickly "recouped," but after the transfer the interlocutors stopped responding.

When the promised income did not materialize and the "employers" disappeared, the man realized he had been deceived. A criminal case has been opened on a charge of fraud.

Police are now trying to establish who was behind this deception and to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Earlier it was reported that a 26-year-old resident of Arzamas handed over almost 800,000 rubles to fake bank employees.
