Nizhny Novgorod architect Vladimir Ignatiev has died.

      On 17 August, in his 87th year, Vladimir Ignatyev — an outstanding architect whose works have become an integral part of Nizhny Novgorod’s appearance — passed away. This was reported by the House of the Architect. Over his 50-year career the master created the famous chandelier and the interiors of the assembly hall in the House of the Architect, the now-lost café “Grad-Kamen” by the Kremlin walls, as well as the wooden café “Burlatskaya Slobodka” on the Georgievsky Descent. The farewell will take place on 19 August at the House of the Architect: at 9:00 a civil memorial will begin, followed by a religious funeral service. Komsomolskaya Pravda expresses its deep condolences to the architect’s relatives, friends and colleagues.
