      Messenger MAX does not perform automatic video recording of users. This information was confirmed to the "360" TV channel by the social network’s press service.

      The press service explained that camera use in MAX is possible only with the active participation of the user. For example, the camera turns on during a video call if the user activates that function themselves. The application does not request or use access to the camera without the user's explicit permission.

      Earlier, reports appeared online from users claiming that MAX records them without their knowledge. IT expert Alexey Gorelkin, speaking with the TV channel, expressed doubts about the veracity of these claims, emphasizing that such functions have no practical purpose.

      However, it is worth noting that some applications can indeed activate the camera for various purposes, such as collecting data to improve the user experience or for marketing research. This allows developers to better understand users' needs and preferences.

      As a reminder, the educational service "Sferum", developed on the VK platform, will be integrated into the MAX messenger, and starting in September schools in the Nizhny Novgorod region will begin using the updated platform in the new digital environment.
