      A major overhaul of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya Street is starting in the Stakhanovsky settlement of the Avtozavodsky District. The work will include construction of sidewalks and installation of outdoor lighting.

      According to MKU "GUMMiD", a contract for the project has already been signed, and a positive state review dated July 30, 2025, has been received.

      At present the road is an unpaved country section with no asphalt surface, pedestrian zones, or street lighting. Because of this, local residents are forced to walk on the roadway, which creates safety risks.

      Upon completion of the overhaul, a significant improvement in conditions for pedestrians and motorists is expected, as well as an increase in safety on this stretch.

      Earlier some residents of the settlement opposed the road repairs. In their view, the authorities may use the repairs as a pretext to build a major highway.

      It was previously reported that another 57 kilometres of roads will be repaired in the Nizhny Novgorod Region by the end of 2025.
