Carriers in the Nizhny Novgorod Region were caught in thousands of violations.

      Inspections carried out by the Center for Transport Systems Development (CTSD) in 2025 revealed numerous violations among carriers in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      According to the agency, since the beginning of the year CTSD specialists conducted 54 control activities aimed at assessing compliance with the terms of state contracts.

      Companies that came under the inspectors' close scrutiny included "Nizhegorodpassazhiravtotrans", "Nizhegorodelectrotrans", "Arzamaspassazhiravtotrans", MUP "Express", LLC "Stolitsa-Avto", "Trans-NN", "Konka" and "Meshcheryakov and Company".

      During the inspections 295 buses were examined. In total specialists recorded 5,736 violations. Of these, 2,826 cases concerned failure to operate trips included in the official schedule.

      Other common problems included the absence of audible stop announcements, a shortage of fixed fare-payment terminals, dirty interiors, damaged seat upholstery and non-compliance with vehicle appearance requirements.

      As a result of the inspections carriers were fined a total of 2.3 million rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that almost 65% of Nizhny Novgorod residents are dissatisfied with the quality of public transport.
