Nizhny Novgorod has gained a new sister city in Republika Srpska.

      Nizhny Novgorod has gained a new twin city — the city of East Sarajevo in the Republika Srpska. This was reported on his Telegram channel by the mayor of the Volga capital, Yuri Shalabaev.

      He noted that during meetings with representatives of foreign cities a number of cooperation documents were signed, in particular memoranda of understanding with the cities of Bender (Transnistria), Vitebsk (Belarus) and Kerman (Iran).

      Shalabaev emphasized that the agreement with Kerman was the first for Nizhny Novgorod in the Iranian direction. He noted that engagement with the Middle East is today strategically important for the whole country, and the city seeks to build new bridges of friendship with reliable partners.

      "We are also deepening cooperation with long-time friends — China's Hefei, with which work has been underway for more than five years," the mayor added.

      The head of the city stressed that all of Nizhny Novgorod's partners are fraternal peoples and states demonstrating genuine intentions to develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
