      The renovation of the gymnasium at Gymnasium No. 13 was completed as part of the governor’s participatory budgeting project “You Decide!”. This was reported by the administration of the Nizhegorodsky District.

      Head of Nizhegorodsky District Alexey Rybolovlev and the curator of the “Social District Officer” project in the district, Svetlana Dosaeva, assessed the quality of the work carried out. Worn-out structures and floor coverings were dismantled in the gym, the floor was leveled, walls were repaired, ceilings were replaced, and ventilation and lighting systems were installed. According to Gymnasium No. 13 principal Natalia Anishchenko, everyone was looking forward to the gym renovation: students, parents, and teachers. “The gym has quite literally been given a new life — new windows and doors have been installed, the floor and ceiling have been repaired, and new lighting has been fitted. Now physical education classes will bring even more pleasure to our children,” she shared.

      The district head Alexey Rybolovlev said that the gym at Gymnasium No. 13 is the last of seven projects planned to be implemented in Nizhegorodsky District under the “You Decide!” project in 2025. “This year we also completed a running track at School No. 22, installed a basketball court at School No. 42, and renovated a multifunctional sports ground at School No. 19. In addition, we repaired surfaces on the premises of School No. 35 and Kindergarten No. 477. All work was completed before September 1 so that children, returning from their holidays, could engage in physical education on updated facilities,” he said.

      As Svetlana Dosaeva noted, the governor’s participatory budgeting project “You Decide!” is an example of successful and constructive interaction between Nizhny Novgorod residents and the city and district administrations. “Today we saw a renovated gym where schoolchildren will be able to do physical education comfortably and safely. The proposal to renovate the gym came from parents and teachers, who submitted an application to participate in the ‘You Decide!’ project. And the result was not long in coming. I think the longer the project exists, the more new, modern facilities and spaces there will be in Nizhny Novgorod,” she said.

      During the inspection, the commission also examined the access road to Gymnasium No. 13 from Minin Street, which was asphalted as part of the municipal program “Development of the Road and Transport Infrastructure of the City of Nizhny Novgorod for 2023–2028.” “A total of 1,076 square meters were asphalted. Additional parking bays were arranged on the premises in place of previously removed dilapidated garages. At the meeting, we also discussed further improvement of the area with residents of the adjacent houses,” the district head said.

      Earlier, city mayor Yuri Shalabaev noted that the governor’s participatory budgeting project “You Decide!” is very popular among Nizhny Novgorod residents. “It’s a great opportunity to do something for your yard or street, your favorite square, school, or sports ground,” the mayor said, urging residents to take an active part in submitting their applications.

      Reminder: until September 15, 2025, Nizhny Novgorod residents can submit an application to participate in the governor’s participatory budgeting project “You Decide!” at: vam.golosza.ru. In 2026 the project’s funding will amount to 1.2 billion rubles.
