Ten Nizhny Novgorod enterprises are taking part in the 4th Congress of Small Towns of the Grodno Region of the Republic of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region of the Russian Federation. The event is being held from August 12 to 15 in the Republic of Belarus.
The venues for activities within the congress were five districts of the Grodno Region that are part of the Partnership Alliance "5+": Volkovysk, Zelva, Svisloch, Slonim and Shchuchin, with the Belarusian city of Mosty serving as the central site.
"The Republic of Belarus is one of the strategic partners of the Nizhny Novgorod Region: from January to May 2025 the volume of exports to this country grew by six percent compared with the same period last year. The country is now among the top three importers of the region's products. Achieving such figures is possible in part thanks to the tools offered to business by the Center for Export Support of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Thus, with the support of our specialists last year 35 Nizhny Novgorod companies concluded 105 export contracts with Belarusian counterparts totaling six million dollars," said the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Maxim Cherkasov.
The following Nizhny Novgorod companies are participating in the 4th Congress of Small Towns: sole proprietor Gruzdev Ilya Sergeevich (toy manufacturing), Rusgeosint LLC (production and sale of geosynthetic materials), Komod Furniture Factory LLC (manufacture of specialized furniture for the public and commercial sectors), Reglament Nizhny Novgorod LLC (equipping public and educational institutions with equipment and furniture), System Logic LLC (wholesale trade in computers, peripheral devices and software), Geometrika LLC (wholesale trade in office furniture), Decoratsii Komforta LLC (manufacture of furniture for offices and retail enterprises), Evrosid LLC (production of seats for motor vehicles), JSC Electro Intel (manufacture of other electrical equipment), and Park-M LLC (production of infrared emitters).
Enterprises of the Nizhny Novgorod Region supply to the Republic of Belarus components for seats, industrial paints, gas equipment, frozen food products and metal products.
Participants of the business trip visited major Belarusian enterprises: OJSC Slonim Meat Processing Plant, State Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal-Slonim, OJSC Slonim Art Factory, OJSC Slonimmebel, Akvapak-Industrial LLC, and OJSC SKBZ Albertin.
Delegation members from the Nizhny Novgorod Region also delivered presentations at the session "Economy: Industry, Personnel Policy." Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Elena Omelyanenko presented the trade and industrial potential of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to Belarusian colleagues and summed up the results of the section, while the head of the Center for Export Support of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Alexandra Bessonova, presented the Center's results in cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.
Recall that more than 20 Nizhny Novgorod municipalities are participating in the 4th Congress of Small Towns in the Republic of Belarus. In total, the 4th Congress brought together about 250 delegates from the two regions of both countries to exchange experience in the fields of agriculture, industry, tourism, public administration and youth policy. Working sessions were held simultaneously in five districts of the Grodno Region.
Recall that the national project "International Cooperation and Export", initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, is being implemented in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Region by the regional Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship. The goals of the national project are the development of foreign economic ties with friendly countries, an increase in exports of goods and services, growth in supplies of agricultural products and the creation of international export infrastructure. From 2025 the national project includes four federal projects: "Export of Industrial Goods", "Export of Agricultural Products", "Systemic Measures for the Development of International Cooperation and Export" and "Creation of Overseas Infrastructure to Support Exports."
