      The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabaylo, commented on the death of a man after being beaten by teenagers in Avtozavod. In his Telegram channel he wrote that, according to preliminary information, one of the teenagers practiced sambo at a private sports club.

      Kabaylo expressed deep regret over the incident and conveyed his sincere condolences to the deceased's relatives and loved ones. He noted that this terrible incident prompts reflection on the values society passes on to the younger generation.

      The minister emphasized that the issue of oversight of private sports organizations is particularly acute. According to him, many private clubs operate in the region, but the Ministry of Sports lacks sufficient tools for full supervision of their activities.

      "We are actively building a dialogue with the clubs, but this is not enough: the activities of many remain opaque, and we are limited in our capabilities," he wrote.

      According to him, the head of the Russian Ministry of Sports, Mikhail Degtyarev, reported to President Vladimir Putin on the need to grant regional ministries of sport control and supervisory powers, and this initiative was supported.

      Kabaylo noted that sport should cultivate not only physically strong but also responsible citizens. He stressed the importance of instilling in young athletes respect for their opponents and responsibility for their actions.

      The minister added that the regional department is ready to support conscientious sports organizations, but real change requires decisions at the federal level that would ensure the safety and quality of private clubs' operations.

      Earlier it was reported that in Vyksa teenagers were extorting money from their peers by posting provocative material online in their names.
