Society: From September 1, changes to the procedure for medical examination for intoxication will come into force, reports the TV channel "360". The main innovations include increasing the interval between breathalyzer tests and mandatory storage of biological samples for three months.

Experts emphasize that these changes will not lead to radical shifts but will only bring the procedure into line with modern requirements. One of the key aspects will be the mandatory indication, in the referral for chemical-toxicological testing, of all medications taken by the person. This will allow a more accurate assessment of the individual's health and rule out false results.

Medical organizations will be required to store biological material for three months after issuing the certificate, and mass spectra on electronic media for five years. The interval between two breathalyzer tests will also be increased. If it was previously 15–20 minutes, then from September 1 it will be 15–25 minutes.

In addition, a new deadline for urine submission for analysis will be set — within 30 minutes after receiving the referral for chemical-toxicological testing. If urine is not submitted within this period, the patient will have to give blood.
