A female official was accused of negligence after the death of a child in Avtozavod.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, investigators have charged an employee of the Avtozavodsky District administration with negligence that, they say, led to the tragic death of a 6-year-old boy, the press service of the regional Investigative Committee of Russia reported.

      Recall that the tragedy occurred on 9 August on Raevsky Street. A man was walking down the street with the child when part of the wall of an old abandoned building suddenly collapsed on them. The concrete structure fell directly onto the child, who died at the scene.

      According to the investigation, the building had long been in a dilapidated condition. At the same time it had not been fenced off or marked in any way as a dangerous object. Responsibility for identifying such structures, investigators found, rested with one of the district administration employees. According to the investigation's version, she failed to perform her duties properly.

      The Investigative Committee has charged her under the article on negligence that resulted in death through negligence. The court will soon decide which preventive measure to apply to her.

      Investigators continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that the former general director of Nizhny Novgorod JSC "Teploenergo", Ilya Khalturin, will be convicted for exceeding his authority.
