      At the preseason press conference held on August 14 at the NOIC, the president of the men's water polo club "Torpedo", Nikolai Khodov, outlined the club's key goals for the upcoming season, reports a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".

      Khodov said that the main objective for the men's team will be winning medals and getting past the first round of the playoffs. Previously, "Torpedo" had never advanced past the first round.

      "This task is officially set before the team. That is, we must get into the fight for medals. There have been reinforcements for this, and the work is being done. Based on that, we just need to digest it, become a united collective and prepare ourselves to fight for the highest places," the head of "Torpedo" noted.

      He also added that the Nizhny Novgorod club does not intend to be limited to the championship. One of the season's goals will be reaching the final of the Russian Cup.

      Earlier it was reported that "Pari NN" lost four matches in a row. After the loss to "Rostov", the Nizhny Novgorod side remained the only team in the RPL without points.
