      The women's futsal club "Normanochka" from Nizhny Novgorod is preparing for the start of the new season, which for the Nizhny Novgorod team will begin in Brazil with participation in the Futsal World Cup. The Nizhny Novgorod side is determined to fight for the main trophy. This was announced at a preseason press conference on August 14, reports a correspondent for NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."

      Team captain Kseniya Olkova noted that participation in this tournament has special significance for the players.

      "We all understand that there are very few international competitions right now, especially for women's futsal — a tournament like this is one of the most important events in our lives. That's why we are going to this tournament with great hopes," she said.

      The players want not only to demonstrate beautiful and spectacular play, but also finally to achieve victory on the international stage. The captain emphasized that it is high time to win titles.

      Head coach of "Normanochka," Stanislav Buslaev, said that preparations for the competition are proceeding according to a prearranged plan. According to him, the team has carefully studied numerous video recordings of matches from the Brazilian championship, which recently concluded. Special attention is being paid to analyzing the play of potential opponents, especially the tournament's host team.

      Buslaev noted that all preparation is essentially being built with an eye toward a possible meeting with the Brazilian national team in the final. He stressed that it will be a very serious and difficult match, as the opponent possesses a high level of play and extensive experience. Nevertheless, the coach expressed confidence that the team understands whom they will have to face and is ready for the challenge.

      Nikolai Khodov, president of PKMF "Torpedo," commenting on "Normanochka's" participation in the World Cup, said that reaching the final would become a monumental task not only for the club but for all of Russian football.

      "The only opportunity to hear the anthem at this tournament is to hear it in the final match. Therefore I would formulate the task this way — we are going for the anthem," he emphasized.

      Recall that "Normanochka" won the Russian Women's Futsal Cup for the 2024/2025 season.
