Doctors in Kstovo saved a man's hand after a severe angle-grinder injury.

      A young man suffered a severe shoulder injury while working with an angle grinder — a dislodged disc damaged the brachial artery, causing extensive blood loss and putting the arm at risk of amputation. This was reported by the Kstovskaya Central District Hospital on its VKontakte page.

      As doctors noted, every minute counted. The operating team, led by the heads of the surgical departments Evgeny Varshaver and Boris Sheiner, urgently installed a temporary shunt made from PVC tubing to maintain blood flow until the arrival of the vascular surgeon.

      Vascular surgery specialist Vasily Leonov performed arterial reconstruction. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the medical team, the arm was saved.

      The patient has already been discharged from the hospital and will continue treatment on an outpatient basis.
