      The Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region fined a bank for illegal actions in the recovery of overdue debt, the agency’s press service reported.

      In particular, a bank representative in a telephone conversation did not give his surname and introduced himself as a judicial bailiff (enforcement officer), thereby misleading the debtor. In addition, the calls were made to a phone number that was not listed in the loan application and had not been agreed with the client.

      As a result of the administrative proceedings, the credit institution was found guilty of violating Part 1 of Article 14.57 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It was fined 300,000 rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that bailiffs had secured payment by a construction company of compensation for moral damages to the children of a man who died in an accident caused by its employee.
