      State Duma deputy Sergey Mironov proposed introducing an annual 13th pension for retirees in Russia. This was reported by the 360 TV channel.

      Mironov noted the results of a survey in which citizens indicated a comfortable pension amount. Most respondents named sums of 80,000 rubles and above, while the average pension in Russia is 23,456 rubles. In the deputy's view, pensioners can only make ends meet on such money, which is insufficient for a decent life.

      Mironov emphasized that the Ministry of Finance has the necessary funds to implement this initiative. However, he said, previous proposals to introduce a 13th pension have always been rejected. The deputy called to end the "miserly philosophy" and start acting in the interests of citizens. He noted that Russia is a wealthy country and urged stopping the restriction of spending to raise the population's standard of living.
