      As part of the construction of a parallel road to Gagarin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod, the authorities have decided to expropriate 24 more land plots. The corresponding order was signed by the Ministry of Property of the Nizhny Novgorod Region on August 8.

      All plots to be expropriated are located on the premises of the Vympel-1 garage cooperative in the Prioksky district.

      The plots belong to private owners and will be taken for state needs. Owners are entitled by law to compensation for the land and any real estate located on it. The amount of compensation will be determined by the region’s Main Directorate of Highways, which has also been instructed to conduct negotiations with the rights holders.

      If owners refuse to sign agreements, the expropriation will proceed in court.

      Work on the second and third phases of the project is currently underway: the roadbed is being formed, asphalt is being laid, and engineering communications are being restructured. The first bored pile has been poured on the parallel road; it will become part of support No. 1 of the future overpass across the Olgino–Bolshaya Yelnya highway.

      Earlier it was reported that several more garages would be expropriated for the extension of the Sormovsko-Meshcherskaya metro line.
