      The trial operation of the new-generation "Sinara" trolleybus in Nizhny Novgorod has been extended until August 31. This was reported by the Regional Center for Transport Systems Development.

      Since May 20 the innovative trolleybus with increased autonomous range has already carried more than 28,500 passengers. In just two months of service on route No. 1 "Strelka" Metro — Chaadaevo platform (from June 12 to August 12), over 8,300 people used the Sinara's services.

      The new model features a spacious cabin designed for 85–100 passengers, a high ceiling and panoramic windows. For ease of movement it has independent suspension and a low-floor design, which is especially important for people with reduced mobility.

      In addition, the trolleybus is equipped with a modern climate control system, USB sockets and a contactless fare payment system.

      Until the end of the summer the Sinara will continue to run on route No. 1 so specialists can evaluate its operational characteristics in real conditions.

      Earlier it was reported that test trials of the autonomous-range "Admiral" trolleybus had been completed in Nizhny Novgorod.
