More than half of multi-apartment buildings in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast are already ready for the heating season.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 60% of apartment buildings have already received readiness certificates for the heating season. This was reported by the regional State Housing Inspectorate.

      Of the 26,902 apartment buildings located in the region, more than 16,000 have been prepared. Work must be completed by 15 September.

      The State Housing Inspectorate reminded that inspection and preparation of buildings for the heating season begin immediately after its end: the heating system is flushed and pressure-tested, and the heat circuit, ventilation and chimneys are checked. If no violations are found, the building receives a readiness certificate issued by the management company.

      To date, State Housing Inspectorate specialists have checked over 350 certificates and inspected 416 buildings. The inspections revealed 165 violations.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, 50% of residential buildings have received readiness certificates. In total, 9,461 apartment buildings in the regional center must be prepared for the start of heating. According to Deputy Head of the regional State Housing Inspectorate Dmitry Petrov, buildings managed by homeowners' associations (HOAs) and housing cooperatives are behind schedule — their average readiness level is 34%. However, work continues daily.

      The agency reminded that if preparation deadlines are missed or discrepancies are found, administrative measures will be applied to management companies. The fine for violating licensing requirements can range from 250,000 to 300,000 rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that utility services returned nearly 2 million rubles in overpayments to Nizhny Novgorod residents.
